I am not going to lie, right before I went outside to join my family out in the backyard, I read a Facebook post from some wealthy acquaintances that had left their kids at home while they traveled Europe on a “baby-moon”. Looking at the mess I was about to clean up, I thought to myself “why can’t I be wealthy and travel the world? Instead, here I am, getting dirty and doing yard work- ugh”. Well, let me tell you something, Nicolas showed me how wrong I was. We started cleaning the yard and he was very excited that mommy was working with him. He said “Mommy, you and I make a great team! We are the best workers and will earn lots of dollars!” We spent some quality couple of hours and I am positive the memories we created that day will stay with both of us for a lifetime. Right there and then I realized (again) how blessed I am to have them and I wouldn’t change spending quality time (key word: Quality) with my kids for a trip to Europe… Ok, maybe I would, but only if my kiddos came along.
Have you ever felt like I did before the yard work? Have you ever resented Social Media because it made you feel bad about your life?
